You must be wondering what this post is all about...well i shall enlighten you as i am a victim of Herpangina and below are being further explained.
I was feeling ok yesterday morning however i woke up from my nap with fever which Mummy felt rather strange. My fever went up and down hovering around 38.9 degree celcius ( 101.9 F) but did not go away until this morning. I wasn't drinking well, eating well, sleeping well and have not been taking my milk since last night.
So Mummy and Daddy was worried so they decided to bring me to the doctor to examine further. Doctor Bhatt checked my throat and found some ulcers which causes my loss of appetite, this is also termed as Herpangina.
Following are what Mummy have googled on the explanation of this medical term and this is what she have found.
><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><
Herpangina, also called mouth blisters, is the name of a painful mouth infection caused by coxsackieviruses. Usually, herpangina is produced by one particular strain of coxsackie virus A (and the term "herpangina virus" refers to coxsackievirus A)[1] but it can also be caused by coxsackievirus B or echoviruses.[2] It is most common in children, and very contagious.
Mummy read that this symptoms are abit similar to HFMD but they are of different viral group. You can read about HFMD.
Dr Bhatt mentioned that this also could happen during the change of season especially transition to Summer.Or due to putting foreign objects in my mouth which i often do that... sigh
Symptoms are as follow:
Mild and short in duration (no more than 1 week)
Sore throat and difficulty swallowing which causes loss in appetite
High fever
Referred ear pain, especially when swallowing
Small vesicular or punctuate lesions with white base on posterior soft palate near uvula and anterior fauces of the tonsils.
A diagnosis can be made from clinical signs and symptoms, and treatment consists of minimizing the discomfort of symptoms.
So today is considered Day 2 of having Herpangina and Dr Bhatt mention that if within 3-5 days my fever does not go away i will have to go back to the clinic again.
Hope i recover soon... =.=
I'm also very sad because Nai Nai's flight back home is today and i could not send her off... But i will see her very soon when she returns in August.
Have a safe flight ,Nai Nai... I love you. ;)
